In February 2026 CONCEPT actively participated in the 23rd International Congress and Exhibition of the African Water and Sanitation Association, AAEA (African Water and Sanitation Association, AfWASAa major event in the water and sanitation sector, held from February 9 to 13 at the Yaoundé Conference Center in Cameroon. This event brought together more than 3,000 experts and professionals from around the world, from diverse backgrounds such as the water industry, non-governmental organizations, government institutions, and academia.
The congress, held under the central theme "Water and Sanitation for All: Strong Actions for Africa," provided an opportunity to address critical issues affecting water supply and sanitation on the African continent and globally. The discussions focused in particular on securing water resources, improving service performance, recognizing sanitation as a pillar of development, mobilizing innovative financing, and accelerating digital transformation, including digitalization and data valorization. The impact of climate change on water resource management was also a major topic, highlighting the importance of innovation, collaboration, and the commitment of all stakeholders to meet these complex challenges.
CONCEPT, a member affiliated with AAEA/AfWASA, was the only Tunisian engineering consulting firm present at the event. Leveraging its participation, CONCEPT deepened its understanding of the technical challenges facing water infrastructure in Africa, while also significantly strengthening its ties with institutional partners, operators, and international organizations active in the sector on the continent. The company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting them in the implementation of innovative and sustainable engineering projects, which are essential to meeting the growing needs for drinking water and sanitation.
