Feasibility study for the rehabilitation and extension of existing infrastructure to strengthen the capacity of the system and promote measures to reduce the access distance to the nearest water point to less than 500m in the region of volcanoes in the western part of the Rwanda in the districts of Rubavu, Nyabihu and Musanze.
Assessment of the situation on the ground and the stakeholders involved in each district. Inventory and assessment of available documentation, reports, analyses, operation and maintenance data, and studies regarding existing water supply facilities in the relevant districts and a random review and assessment of their condition, adequacy, and suitability for :
Assess: water sources, water quality, source capacity
Determine: coverage of the distribution network, connections (type and meter), level of service, illegal listening
Assess the risks to supply and whether storage in the system is adequate both to meet peak demand and to maintain supply to consumers in the event of potential outages. Conduct a socio-economic study on the affordability of payment and return on investment.
