Waste management and treatment

Conducting technical (definition of the sector, sizing of infrastructure and identification of equipment), environmental and social studies for the management of solid waste in the city of Kaédi

The project aims to improve the productivity of intermediate-sized cities and strengthen local institutions so that the targeted cities can fully play their role as genuine drivers of local development. This support will include, among other things, the financing of a number of economic and urban infrastructure projects and will facilitate access to them by providing municipalities with the technical assistance necessary to improve their own resources.
The project is structured around 3 essential components:
– Improving access to infrastructure and services for economic development,
– Strengthening decentralization and the capacities of local authorities
– Project management, monitoring and evaluation.

Establish an overview of the situation in terms of waste management
Produce a brief statement of the lessons learned from the Rosso GDS experience that can be applied to Kaedi
Produce the necessary technical studies (APS/APD) to define the infrastructure to be built, the equipment to be provided, and the support to be given.
Conduct an environmental and social assessment with an environmental and social management plan for the implementation of the planned waste management system
Prepare the tender documents (DAO) for companies for works, supplies and technical assistance
