DRAINAGE STUDY OF RUNOFF WATER IN THE AREA OF "SABKHET EL HAJJEM"


The Directorate of Urban Hydraulics of Ministry of Equipment entrusted the design office CONCEPT SAthe realization of the study of protection against floods and drainage of the area known as "Sabkhet El Hajjem", located in the south east of the city of Sfax.
In addition to the main objective of the study, which is the research and proposal of the optimal solution for the collection, drainage and discharge of runoff water, it would provide the area subject to this study, a basic infrastructure that will allow to integrate it into the urban development plan of the region. Indeed, the study area is geographically located upstream of the project TAPARURA which consists in transforming the northern coasts of the city of Sfax, affected by industrial discharges, into an urban area with elimination of all sources of pollution.
This study will focus on the area known as ''Sabkhet El Hajjem'', in reference to the depression where runoff stagnates, and the entire area bounded to the north by the road Mahdia, and east and west by the drainage canals, namely, channel oued Ezzit and the canal bypass PK4. It is mainly the city Simar, Mansour city, El Ons city, Markaz Basha city, Markaz Ka'nish city, Markaz Ben Amir city, El Habib Bourguiba city, ...
In the remainder of this document, the study area, as defined by the terms of reference, will be referred to as the "Sabkhet El Hajjem area".


Site visit and diagnosis of the current situation as well as the inventory and diagnosis of the existing networks and works (floodable zones, blue points, existing works, ...).
Consultation and analysis of previous studies.
Establishment of basic data (urbanized areas, runoff coefficients, ...).
Delimitation of watersheds, hydrological study and estimation of peak runoff for different return periods.
Proposal and study of several alternative solutions, hydraulic modeling and sizing of the projected structures for each alternative.
Etablissement des métrés et estimation des coûts de chaque variante et comparaison technico-économique des solutions proposées
Detailed study of the variant retained by the customer.
Elaboration of detailed plans
