HYDRAULIC AND GEOTECHNICAL STUDY FOR THE REHABILITATION WORKS OF CROSSROADS INDÉNIÉ BAY COCODY ABIDJAN

This project is part of the activities of the Urban Infrastructure Emergency Project (PUIUR), initiated by the Ivorian government with funding from the International Development AssociationIDA).
In Abidjan, the environmental conditions of the lagoon and low-lying areas of the city have deteriorated significantly, particularly in the Indenie and Cocody bays, currently considered a critical lagoon area.
The project aims to realize the hydraulic and geotechnical study for the rehabilitation works of the crossroads of Indénié, storm drains and major outlets, the spillways of planning, grit stations at Cocody Bay, ...
The chosen solution involves :
The construction of 05 dams clippers ;
• The enlargement of the up stream outlet of the intersection to turn it into one concrete channel total width of 40 m, length 250 m and height 2.5 m ;
• The introduction of a third scupper dimensions 15.6 x 2 and 145 m in length, it will scupper keyed on the same raft dimensions of existing culverts, culvert reject it directly into the Bay of Cocody ;
• Implementation of the cleaning of the earthen canal downstream of the intersection over a length of 700 to 1000m.
The project cost amounts to 15,853,000 euros for the works and networks part and 953,500 euros for urban and landscaping the area around the project site.

DEFINE DATABASE : Collection and analysis database - Recognition and diagnosis of sewerage networks – RSS pollutants - Statistical analysis of rainfall recorded over Abidjan and establishment of IDF curves (Intensity - Duration -Frequency) site characteristics of the project; These curves allow the establishment of project rainfall design (return periods: 1, 2, 5 and 10 years) - Hydrological Study and watershed modelling for a total area of approximately 2 500 hectares - Hydraulic modelling of existing facilities and projected development - Topographical Study - Geotechnical study - physicochemical Study - Analysis of sediment - Biological tested.
DRAFT: TOPOGRAPHICAL AND GEOTECHNICAL WORKS : Definition of the main structures to build and appartenant structures - Study of amenities outskirts of spillways - Evaluation of environmental and social impacts of the project - Landscape study of the project site and proposal for the dredging of part of the Bay of Cocody.
BID DOCUMENTS OF THE FOLLOWING WORKS :The merger of the two channels C1 and C2, The construction of a third Dalot in addition to two existing culverts,The raising of the walls of sections T1, T2, and T3, Concreting of the outlets of the three channels in a lagoon on a definite linear, The implementation of capping basins, The existing sewage works, Dredging of channels of lagoon outlets, Total length of the primary network : 2200 ml.
