PARTICIPATION DE LA POPULATION RURALE A LA GESTION DE L’EAU ET DU SOL EN AMONT DU BARRAGE DE NEBHANA

The project's objective is to improve the living conditions of the local population living upstream of the NebhanaThe project is part of the new strategy for the development and conservation of agricultural land being developed by the DGACTA (Direction Générale de l'Aménagement et de la Conservation des Terres Agricoles). It responds to the national priority of supporting the most disadvantaged regions, and complements the activities of AGIRE (Appui à la Gestion Intégrée des Ressources en Eau),
The AGIRE project is based on three essential components, including the implementation of a participatory consultation process around the management of water resources in the delegation of Sbikha, located downstream from the Nebhana DamThe AGIRE Project, covering the Sbikha delegation, defines the water forum as a process and structures for dialogue and consultation between stakeholders in the water system in relation to a specific territory.
This initiative will intervene in the delegation of Oueslatia, and more specifically the 9 sectors of the delegation composing the watershed of Nebhana, namely: Oued Ksab, Maarouf, Djebel Serj, Zaghdoud, El Oueslatia West and East, El Bhaier, Djebel Oueslat.
Implemented with the DGACTA, this initiative, in order to ensure a coherent intervention between upstream and downstream, works in a sense of synergies with the project AGIRE. At the regional level the CRDA Kairouan and at the local level the CTV Oueslatia ensure the role of technical leaders of this special initiative. The Regional Directorates of Health, Education and Environment will be involved in the planning and monitoring of actions to be carried out.

Elaboration and implementation of a community/local water and soil management development plan enabling a sustainable water-based development dynamic for two sectors in the project area;

Accompaniment/training of grassroots organizations for the implementation and monitoring & evaluation of activities and works to be undertaken in accordance with the established development plan;
Identification and conceptualization of potential income generating sources in the 4 sectors through project sheets and feasibility studies.
