December 2025: Tunisian technical immersion for Guinean sanitation officials, focusing on concrete sanitation and environmental projects

17 February 2026 admin

As part of the Conakry Sanitation Project, for which CONCEPT has been the project manager since 2020, a delegation from the National Sanitation and Public Health AgencyANASPA department under the Ministry of Water and Hydrocarbons of the Republic of Guinea conducted a study mission to Tunisia. The main objective of this visit was to present and analyze in detail operational Tunisian projects, thus providing feedback that will be directly useful for similar challenges within the framework of the operation of facilities designed by CONCEPT in Conakry.

The training consisted of presentations and analyses of 4 key projects, some of which were visited:

  1. STEP Choutrana Visit to the wastewater treatment plant to study wastewater treatment, operational management, and integration into the collective sanitation network.
  2. Closure of the Agareb landfill in Sfax Case study on the rehabilitation and controlled closure of a landfill site, including post-management environmental measures.
  3. Zaghouan landfill Technical presentation and on-site visit of all landfill components.
  4. Rehabilitation of the Laroussia Canal Analysis of best practices and technical challenges for the rehabilitation of hydraulic infrastructure in urban areas.

Beyond the presentations in our offices, the field visits to operational sites (Choutrana WWTP, Zaghouan landfill) were particularly instructive. They provided direct observation of equipment, facilities, and management methods, facilitating in-depth technical discussions on maintenance, optimization, and sustainability of solutions. This immersive experience enabled the ANASP delegation to acquire significant expertise from technical experiences drawn from completed or ongoing projects. Emphasis was placed on the transferability of concepts, lessons learned, and engineering solutions presented.
